All of our rooms, with the exception of the Intermediate Care Unit, are private rooms. We hope this gives you some comfort during your stay.
Telephones are available in all patient rooms. If you are hearing impaired, special telephone receivers and TTD (Telephone for the Totally Deaf) are available upon request.
Incoming and outgoing calls are available 24 hours a day. To call another room at Seton Northwest from your own room, dial 46, then the room number. You may place local calls by dialing "9" to get an outside line followed by the phone number. Long distance calls must be charged on your telephone credit card or placed collect.
Volunteers, or Unit Clerks, distribute mail to patients. To receive mail, please tell family and friends to include patient name and room number.
Each room in the hospital is equipped with a television set. If your television is not operating correctly, please ask your nurse for assistance.
Patient meals are served according to each patient's medical plan assigned by your physician or dietician. A Staff Member or Volunteer can help you with meal selection, if this is needed.
It is best for patients to either not bring valuables to the hospital, or to send home any valuables with family members. If this option is not available, patients should contact their nurse to arrange for storage of valuables. Seton Northwest is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
The Seton Northwest Hospital Pharmacy is available to fill your prescriptions upon discharge from the hospital. We accept the Seton Healthplan Insurance and cash. If you pay for your prescription, our receipt is valid for you to process your claim with your insurance company. The pharmacy is located on the second floor and is open from 7 :00 A.M. to 11 :00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., weekends and holidays.
Seton Northwest Laboratory is a College of American Pathologist accredited laboratory. We are open 24 hours, 7 days/week. Services include Blood Bank, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry and Pathology. The Clinical Lab main number is 324-6005.
The Seton Northwest Hospital Rehabilitation Services Department provides a variety of services for inpatients and outpatients ranging in age from children to the very elderly. A physician referral is required in order to receive services. An evaluation of the patient is completed prior to therapy being administered. An individualized treatment plan is developed taking into account the patient's, family's, physician's and therapist's goals.
Physical Therapy: rehabilitation techniques including therapeutic exercises, gait training, functional training, neuromuscular re-education, and physical agents to relieve pain and improve function.
Wound Care: provided by physical therapists, debridement and dressing of wounds, instruction in self-management of wound and skin to promote healing and prevent reoccurrence.
Occupational Therapy: training in activities of daily living including dressing, toileting, bathing and grooming, splinting and fitting of appropriate assistive devices, instruction to patients, families, and other caregivers for home care.
Speech Therapy: bedside evaluations of swallowing function and Modified Barium Swallow tests in conjunction with the Imaging Department; treatment of swallowing and speech disorders, voice rehabilitation and training in alternative communication methods.
Preauthorization is required by most insurance plans prior to initiation of treatment.
Seton Northwest Hospital Sports Medicine and Hand Therapy Clinic Located in the Health Plaza adjacent to Seton Northwest Hospital, SNW Sports Medicine and Hand Therapy Clinic provides Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy to outpatients ranging in ages from children to adults. Treatment emphasis is on helping clients reach a healthy, active lifestyle whether it involves competitive athletics, or active fitness and recreational activities. Physical Therapists specialize in manual therapy, sports physical therapy, and aquatic therapy. Occupational Therapists specialize in hand therapy.

Hours of operation are 7:00 AM. to 7:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and 9:00 AM. to 12:00 P.M., on Saturday. Diagnostic Radiology is staffed 24 hours a day for Inpatient, Emergency and Surgical Imaging needs. All other Imaging departments are staffed during daytime hours Monday through Friday for all patients and are available for emergency call back after routine service hours.
Seton Northwest Volunteers first began their work in 1988 and now number in excess of 200. The Volunteers currently staffs 16 service areas throughout the hospital and in the Health Plaza. The organization has raised $500,000 for Seton Northwest Hospital since its inception. All funds raised are given back to Seton Northwest Hospital.
